Licensed Counselor
Serene Mind Counseling is located in Mesa, AZ. We provide mental health treatment for adolescents and adults for a variety of psychological needs. Meghan Cassidy, LPC has experience in the mental health field for 26 years and has owned a private practice for the past 13 years. She practices trauma informed care and is EMDR certified. We are looking for a counselor/therapist to join our team. As a therapist, you will be responsible for conducting psychotherapy, preparing mental health plan assessments, progress notes, developing treatment plans and completing all mandated reports. Serene Mind Counseling will provide clinical supervision towards licensure on a weekly basis and will support continued growth in the field. We are currently looking for trauma informed counselors, who are passionate about their work and strive for continued growth.
Ideal Candidate
This position is best suited for a highly motivated therapist who wants experience in a private practice while obtaining clinical supervision towards independent licensure but does not want the hassle or stress of running their own practice (marketing, billing, initial scheduling, rent, etc.…). It is also suitable for someone who prefers working as part of a collaborative team of therapists, rather than practicing in isolation, and has a passion for individuals with trauma, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. This position requires a strong work ethic and desire to provide quality and evidenced based treatment. We are looking for someone who is passionate about learning and developing their skills. A balance of attention to detail, enthusiasm, and warmth is a must
Requirements
- Build up to a minimum of 25 client hours per week (plus the additional time needed for case management, consultation & record keeping)
- Willingness to comply with documentation protocol necessary for best practice
- DSM-5 diagnostic competency
- Competency with documenting “medical necessity” in progress notes and treatment plans
- Completion of notes and other required documentation within 48 hours of completion of session.
- Current CPR & First Aid Certifications
- Good standing with Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners and current holding of non-independent/independent licensure or temporary license
- Possess some knowledge of assessment and crisis intervention and community resources
- Pass background check, drug screen, and active Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Equipment: Must have computer access, and be comfortable with technology.
- Must provide own private practice liability insurance.

Type: Salary: $53,560.00 – $93,730.00 per year
