Meghan is a Certified EMDR therapist. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Grand Canyon University and her Master’s in Counseling at Ottawa University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in working with adolescents and adults.

I understand that emotional health and relationships are important to maintaining multiple aspects of our lives. Psychological pain can lead to a variety of physical and emotional symptoms interfering with our daily functioning, such as anxiety, depression, and relational problems. As a therapist, I am dedicated to assist an individual in alleviating their personal pain, suffering, or difficulties. I believe that every client with whom I work deserves to be treated with personalized care, compassion, and understanding. This perspective helps a client to open up and trying new ways to manage life’s challenges.

Although I provide psychotherapy for a wide range of problem areas including depression and anxiety, I specialize in the psychological treatment of trauma with both male and female clients. Trauma impacts our lives by triggering unpleasant and terrorizing memories, interfering with our ability to be in satisfying relationships with others, and by compromising our ability to manage daily life stressors.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a widely researched and proven approach for the treatment of trauma. Using EMDR I will assist an individual in understanding the impact of trauma in the here and now, managing the symptoms related to this impact, improving emotional regulation to decrease the feeling of overwhelm and/or chaos in their life, and improving overall relational functioning.
